Draft the monthly investor update in Gmail

Dash writes next month's investor update in the same structure as last month's, fills the numbers from the systems they live in, marks anything it could not source, and leaves it as a draft for the founder to edit and send.

@Dash draft the August investor update. Same shape as July.

Drafted in Gmail, not sent. Same five sections as July, in the same order, with August numbers.

Filled from source · revenue and net new from billing · pipeline created and closed from the CRM · headcount from the HR system · runway from the finance sheet

Two things I changed from the July structure, both because the content demanded it:

  • July had a hiring section with three roles open. All three are filled, so it is now two sentences rather than a list.
  • Added a short paragraph on the reseller channel, because it is now material enough that leaving it out would be the notable choice.
Three placeholders I will not fill. The product milestone date, the named logo you may or may not have permission to mention, and the Q4 target. None of those exist in a system I can read, and inventing them into an investor update is the worst possible place to be approximately right.

Did you carry over the asks section?

Yes, with last month's two asks and their status. One was answered, one was not, and I have left the unanswered one in rather than quietly dropping it, since a repeated ask is the point of that section.

The draft is in Tessa's Gmail drafts. Nothing goes out without her sending it.
